SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Estelle Elizabeth "Peachie" Bowen of 
4Norton Shores, Michigan, formerly of Elmhurst, who passed away 
5on April 30, 2013; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen was born on December 9, 1925, in 
7Chicago; her parents were Paul and Anne Roberts; she married 
8Joseph F. Bowen on March 17, 1948; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen was a member of Mary Queen of Heaven 
10in Elmhurst, where she was a daily communicant; she also 
11belonged to various prayer groups, investments clubs, and a 
12network of girlfriends, affectionately known as "The Club", 
13which met every month; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen was preceded in death by her son, 
15John Joseph Bowen; her sister, Pat Dowling; and her brothers, 
16Bill and Paul Roberts; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen is survived by her husband; her 
18children, JoAnne (Mark) Duffy, Denise (Ralph) Ryan, William 
19(Cheryl) Bowen, and Martin Bowen; her 17 grandchildren; her 14 
20great-grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (Patricia) Nelson; and 
21her sister, Maureen (Jerry) Lambeth; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3her family and friends, the passing of Estelle Elizabeth 
4"Peachie" Bowen; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Estelle Bowen as an expression of 
7our sympathy.
