SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Stephen E. Walter of Grayslake, who 
4passed away on April 14, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephen Walter achieved the Bronze Tablet from the 
6University of Illinois and was a graduate of Northwestern 
7University School of Law; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Stephen Walter served as a public defender in Lake 
9County; he had a private practice before becoming a judge in 
101985, where he served until his retirement in 2006; after 
11retirement, he practiced law as a part-time mediator and 
12arbitrator and enjoyed spending time with his family; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Stephen Walter was a member of the Illinois State 
14Bar Association; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Stephen Walter loved sports and was a diehard 
16Chicago White Sox fan; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Stephen Walter is survived by his loving wife, 
18Claudia; his children, Matthew (fiancee, Caroline) Walter, Mia 
19Walter, John Walter, and Sarah Walter; his sister, Linda Olen; 
20and his canine companions, Spencer and Missy; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing of Stephen E. Walter; and 
4be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Stephen Walter as an expression of 
7our sympathy.
