| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of John Giovannoni of Palatine; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, John Giovannoni was the co-owner of The Music Room |
| 5 | | in downtown Palatine; his life revolved around music; besides |
| 6 | | his work at The Music Room, he played drums and trombone with |
| 7 | | the Elmhurst Jazz Band and the band Simply Vintage and taught |
| 8 | | music at both Quest Academy and St. Theresa's in Palatine; he |
| 9 | | emceed Palatine's yearly Pet Parade and judged its Battle of |
| 10 | | the Bands; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, John Giovannoni's co-owner of The Music Room, |
| 12 | | Carol Cook, met him 22 years ago when she hired him to play in a |
| 13 | | band she was putting together for a children's musical and the |
| 14 | | 2 joined forces to open The Music Room in 1994; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, John Giovannoni is survived by his wife, Chris |
| 16 | | Mitchell; his parents; his grandmother; his sister; and many |
| 17 | | other family members; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, John Giovannoni's dying request was that people |
| 19 | | not hold a service, memorial, or a funeral, but celebrate his |
| 20 | | life with a party; therefore, be it
