| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Charles J. "Duke" Taylor of Canton, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 6, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Taylor was born on April 18, 1929, in |
| 6 | | Canton; his parents were Charles and Madeline Howarter Taylor; |
| 7 | | he married Virginia Buell on July 2, 1955, in Canton; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Charles Taylor served his country as a member of |
| 9 | | the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Charles Taylor worked as an inspector at |
| 11 | | Caterpillar Tractor Company for many years until his |
| 12 | | retirement; he also served on the tourism council and was a |
| 13 | | precinct committeeman for the City of Canton for several years; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Charles Taylor was a member of the 1st Christian |
| 16 | | Church in Canton, the Canton Masonic Lodge, Peoria Scottish |
| 17 | | Rites, the Fulton County Democrats, the Canton VFW, and the |
| 18 | | American Legion; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Charles Taylor is survived by his wife; his |
| 20 | | children, Valerie (Dave Berry) Taylor and Penny (Randy) Asper; |
