AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3433 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3433 as follows:


 
3on page 5, line 21, by deleting "or personal watercraft"; and
 
4on page 6, line 5, by deleting "or"; and
 
5on page 6, immediately below line 5, by inserting the 
6following:
 
7        "(7) a person that has assumed operation of the 
8    motorboat for the purpose of completing a watercraft safety 
9    course approved by the Department, the U.S. Coast Guard, or 
10    the National Association of State Boating Law 
11    Administrators; or"; and
 
12on page 6, line 6, by replacing "(7)" with "(8)"; and

1on page 6, by replacing lines 19 through 22 with the following:
 
2                   "(j) The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Law 
3Enforcement, shall adopt rules necessary to implement and 
4enforce the provisions of this Section.  The Department of 
5Natural Resources shall consult and coordinate with the boating 
6public, professional organizations for recreational boating 
7safety, and the boating retail, leasing, and dealer business 
8community in the adoption of these rules.".
