| 1 | | AN ACT concerning children.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended |
| 5 | | by adding Section 39.2 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 505/39.2 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 39.2. Illinois Children's Justice Task Force. The |
| 8 | | Illinois Children's Justice Task Force, in compliance with (i) |
| 9 | | the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) (42 U.S.C. |
| 10 | | 5106c), as amended by Public Law 111-320; (ii) the Victims of |
| 11 | | Crime Act of 1984 (42 U.S.C. 10603), as amended; and (iii) |
| 12 | | Section 116 of the CAPTA Reauthorization Act of 2010, shall be |
| 13 | | charged with the exploration, research, and development of |
| 14 | | recommendations on a multidisciplinary team approach for the |
| 15 | | investigation of reports of abuse or neglect of children under |
| 16 | | the age of 18. |
| 17 | | The Illinois Children's Justice Task Force shall submit a |
| 18 | | report to the General Assembly by March 1, 2015 regarding, but |
| 19 | | not limited to, its recommendations for a statewide |
| 20 | | multidisciplinary approach to child abuse or neglect |
| 21 | | investigations. The Department of Children and Family Services |
| 22 | | shall continue to provide administrative support to the Task |
| 23 | | Force through the Department's Children's Justice Grant |
