| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives pays honor and respect to the truly great |
| 4 | | individuals who have served our country and, in doing so, have |
| 5 | | gone above and beyond the call of duty; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, James Brandon served in the United States Army as |
| 7 | | a Private First Class with the 667th Field Artillery Battalion |
| 8 | | Headquarters Battery; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, James Brandon served in the Ardennes, the |
| 10 | | Rhineland, Luxembourg, and Central Europe; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Brandon took part in the infamous Battle of |
| 12 | | the Bulge, and after the Germans surrendered the battle, he was |
| 13 | | sent to Berlin; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, During his service, James Brandon was awarded the |
| 15 | | American Theater Ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern |
| 16 | | Campaign Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medals, and |
| 17 | | the World War II Victory Medal; therefore, be it

| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 20 | | we recognize James Brandon for his heroic actions during World |
