HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Gary C. Niehaus 
4on the occasion of his retirement as superintendent of the 
5McLean County Unit District No. 5; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Niehaus joined Unit 5 as the superintendent on 
7July 1, 2007; he previously served as the superintendent in 
8both the Charleston School District Unit 1 and Salem Elementary 
9School District 111; he also spent many years as a principal in 
10River Forest, Champaign, Effingham, and Baton Rouge, 
11Louisiana; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Niehaus is known for his open-door policy with 
13students, staff, and community members; he has brought many 
14innovative concepts to the district and has served with many 
15statewide educational organizations, including the Governor's 
16P-20 Council; and
  
 

  
17    WHEREAS, In retirement, Dr. Niehaus will be golfing and 
18watching his beloved Illini; he and his wife, Becky, plan to 
19spend time with their 2 granddaughters; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
21NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate Dr. Gary C. Niehaus on his retirement as 
2superintendent of McLean County Unit District No. 5; and be it
