HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate John Tykol on the 
4occasion of his retirement from the Streamwood Fire Department 
5after over 21 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, John Tykol joined the Streamwood Fire Department 
7on March 8, 1993 and officially retired on May 17, 2014; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, John Tykol is a State-certified paramedic with 
9over 20 years of service; he is also State-certified as a 
10Firefighter II, Firefighter III, Hazardous Material Technician 
11A, Hazardous Material Technician B, and Vertical Technician 
12Rescue I; he has been a member of the Hazardous Materials Team 
13for over 20 years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, John Tykol served as the liaison with Sherman 
15Hospital involving the EMS computer programing and as the 
16President of the Professional Firefighters Association Local 
173022 for 4 years; and
 
  
18    WHEREAS, John Tykol and his wife, Karen, have a son, Sam 
19and a daughter, Hanna; he enjoys sailing and bicycling; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, A celebration will be held honoring John Tykol on

1May 23, 2014 at the Fireside Ale House in Streamwood; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate John Tykol on his retirement from the 
6Streamwood Fire Department after over 21 years of service; and 
7be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to John Tykol as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
