HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Ravenswood 
4Manor Improvement Association on the occasion of the 100th 
5anniversary of its founding; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor-Gardens Community Club was 
7organized on October 3, 1914 in order to create a neighborhood 
8group focused on community improvements; and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association is 
10dedicated to the preservation and betterment of the Ravenswood 
11Manor neighborhood of Chicago; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association is 
13the oldest community association in Chicago still in operation; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association is 
16responsible for having Ravenswood Manor listed on the National 
17Register as a Historic District on September 5, 2008; 
18therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association 
2on its 100th anniversary; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That we thank it for its dedicated work to the 
4improvement of  the Ravenswood Manor community and wish it many 
5more years of success; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association as an 
8expression of our esteem and respect.
