HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Hillary Shumate on the 
4occasion of being named the Illinois PTA Outstanding Teacher of 
5the Year; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Hillary Shumate has served as a literacy teacher 
7at Hadley Junior High School since 2002; she has sponsored many 
8student clubs and has served on committees; she is also the 
9founder of POW! (Powerful Outstanding Women!), a collaborative 
10effort with the PTA to help Hadley girls reach their true 
11potential; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Hillary Shumate helped launch the Animal Helpers 
13Club several years ago; she is also the co-chair of the 
14district's Professional Development Team and a member of the 
15Continuous Improvement Team; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Hillary Shumate was selected by the Hadley PTA as 
17its Illinois PTA Outstanding Teacher of the Year nominee for 
18her boundless passion for education, her exemplary teamwork 
19skills, and her commitment to growing and improving as an 
20educator; and

  
 
21    WHEREAS, Hillary Shumate serves as a model of hard work,

1integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
2Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Hillary Shumate on the occasion of being named 
6the Illinois PTA Outstanding Teacher of the Year and wish her 
7continued success and happiness in the future; and be it

9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Hillary Shumate as a symbol of our esteem and 
11respect.
