HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Brigette and Harry Bell on 
4saving the life of Eric Bell; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, On January 13, 2014, Eric Bell, Brigette's husband 
6and Harry's father, suffered a heart-attack in the foyer of 
7their home; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Brigette and Harry sprang into action; they rolled 
9Eric onto his back and Harry began Hands-Only CPR while 
10Brigette dialed 9-1-1; after about 5 minutes, Brigette took 
11over the chest compressions and Harry talked with the 911 
12dispatcher who counted out the compressions; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Hands-Only CPR kept Eric alive until an 
14emergency crew could arrive and take over; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The main reason Eric is alive today is because of 
16the Hands-Only CPR administered at home by Brigette and Harry; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Harry attends Fenwick High School in Oak Park and 
19trained in CPR during his Freshman year in the Spring of 2012;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we wish to recognize Brigette and Harry Bell on saving the life 
4of Eric Bell; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to Brigette and Harry Bell as an expression of our 
7esteem and respect.
