HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, In recent fiscal years, appropriations to various 
3agencies and groups have been closely examined for their 
4efficiency; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Questions remain regarding the efficiency of 
6certain programs; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, State institutions of higher education are 
8competing for every dollar available through the 
9performance-based funding matrix; and

  
 
10    WHEREAS, Community colleges and universities in Illinois 
11other than Chicago State University have financial aid 
12assistance available to students, which is funded from within 
13their regular appropriations; at Chicago State University, 
14students can receive financial aid assistance through the 
15Financial Assistance Outreach Center; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
18the Auditor General is directed to conduct a performance audit 
19of the State moneys provided by or through Chicago State 
20University to the Financial Assistance Outreach Center in 
21Fiscal Year 2013 and Fiscal Year 2014; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That the Financial Assistance Outreach Center, 
2Chicago State University, and any other State agency or entity 
3that may have information relevant to this audit cooperate 
4fully and promptly with the Auditor General's Office in 
5conducting of its audit; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence this audit as 
7soon as practical and report his findings and recommendations 
8upon completion in accordance with the provisions of Section 
93-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11delivered to the Auditor General.
