HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate St. Anne School in 
4Dixon on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its founding; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, St. Anne School was founded on August 31, 1964 
7with an initial enrollment of 125 students and a staff of 3 
8Sisters of Notre Dame and one lay teacher; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Throughout the years, St. Anne School's 
10facilities and library have been expanded to accommodate the 
11growth of the student body; a preschool was added in 2004, 
12boosting its already impressive enrollment numbers; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, St. Anne School is recognized as a valuable 
14community asset and has gained a prestigious reputation; 
15students participate in community initiatives such as toy 
16drives and food banks, as well as housing initiatives in Hati; 
17students annually compete in the national spelling bee and 
18national geographic contests; and
 
19    WHEREAS, St. Anne School is looking to become more involved 
20in and develop relationships with surrounding parishes in Polo 
21and Oregon that do not have access to Catholic education;

1therefore, be it
  
 
  
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate the administrators, teachers, and students of 
5St. Anne School on its 50th anniversary and we wish them many 
6more years of success; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to St. Anne School as an expression of our esteem and 
9respect.
