HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dwayne Esper on 
4winning a Silver Medal in the 100-meter dash at the 
5International Deaflympics in Sofia, Bulgaria; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Dwayne Esper was also selected by the United 
7States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association to 
8compete in the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter competition 
9at the Deaflympics; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dwayne Esper is a 2013 graduate of the Illinois 
11School for the Deaf and the first athlete from the Illinois 
12School for the Deaf to compete in the Deaflympics since 2002; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dwayne Esper competed in track and field for 4 
15years and was selected as the 2013 Illinois School for the Deaf 
16Athlete of the Year and Track and Field Most Valuable Player 
17and earned All-Conference in the 200-meter dash, the 100-meter 
18dash, and sprint relays; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Dwayne Esper was a 3-time Illinois High School 
20Association State qualifier and took 2nd-place honors in the 
21200-meter dash in Class 1A this year; and

1    WHEREAS, Dwayne Esper was selected as the Deaf Prep 
2All-American in the 200-meter dash, sprint relays, and the high 
3jump; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate Dwayne Esper on his accomplishments and wish 
7him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That  a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Dwayne Esper as a symbol of our respect and 
11esteem.
