HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Lori Oldenettel of 
4Jacksonville on the occasion of being named Illinoisan of the 
5Day by the Illinois State Fair Museum Foundation; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Illinoisan of the Day designation is bestowed 
7by the Illinois State Fair Museum Foundation to those citizens 
8throughout the State who volunteer in their communities, 
9brighten the lives of their neighbors, and represent Illinois 
10in a positive manner; on each day of the Illinois State Fair, 
11one person is named Illinoisan of the Day out of a potential 
12pool of 12.6 million residents of this State; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Lori Oldenettel was selected as Illinoisan of the 
14Day on August 14, 2013; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Lori Oldenettel is a former member of the 
16Jacksonville City Council and has contributed countless hours 
17towards the betterment of her community; she was named the 
18first female president of her local Kiwanis Club; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Lori Oldenettel has served selflessly in 
20inspiring numerous civic efforts, such as cleaning up a stretch 
21of her community's waterway; she has been involved with

1planning numerous community events, including the annual 
2Downtown Celebration and efforts to rehabilitate the Town 
3Brook; as coordinator of community engagement and service at 
4Illinois College, she has worked to interest students in 
5community service-oriented projects; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Lori Oldenettel is a devoted sponsor of youth 
7sports, having served as the coach of her son's soccer team; 
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lori Oldenettel serves as a model of hard work, 
10integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
11Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
14we congratulate Lori Oldenettel on the occasion of being named 
15Illinoisan of the Day by the Illinois State Fair Museum 
16Foundation and wish her continued success and happiness in the 
17future; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to Lori Oldenettel as a symbol of our esteem and 
20respect.
