HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Brother Rice 
4High School varsity rugby team on winning the State 
5championship on May 27, 2013; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Brother Rice Crusaders claimed their  ninth 
7State championship in rugby and the second consecutive one in a  
8thrilling 25-24 victory over Neuqua Valley at the Lemont Blaze 
9Rugby Complex; and
  
 

  
10    WHEREAS, Nine days before they repeated as State champions, 
11the Brother Rice Crusaders captured a national championship 
12with a 25-17 victory over Greenwich, Connecticut; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Brother Rice Crusaders are William Arundel, 
14Kyler Ayres, Jack Bauschelt, Tim Barry, Pat Beglin, Tom 
15Berzins, Sean Bowen, Kevin Bresnahan, Brendan Brown, Matt 
16Brown, Andrew Canedo, Joe Carroll, Matt Caulfield, Marty 
17Cimaglia, Kris Coleman, Jake Cranston, Ryan Daly, Matt Delaney, 
18Tyler Doidge, Aidan Elliott, Keenan Elliott, Ryan Flynn, James

7    WHEREAS, Future success for the Brother Rice Crusaders 
8varsity rugby team appears on the horizon as the junior varsity 
9team won its 2013 State championship  game as well and have yet 
10to lose a game in their short two-year history; therefore, be 
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
14we congratulate the Brother Rice Crusaders on winning the 2013 
15State championship in rugby and also capturing a 2013 National 
16Championship; and be it further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to the Brother Rice Crusaders as an expression of our 
19esteem and respect.
