HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Alice Doyle on receiving the 62nd annual Elmhurst Jaycees Distinguished Service Award (DSA); and

WHEREAS, First given in 1950, the DSA is given to recognize a citizen for their long-term dedication to making Elmhurst a better community; and

WHEREAS, Alice Doyle has contributed in many ways to improving the community of Elmhurst for its citizens; she has been a longstanding member of the League of Women Voters; she has supported the Elmhurst Art Museum's fundraising efforts and the referendum that authorized a new Elmhurst Public Library; she is best known for her support of the Elmhurst YMCA, where she has volunteered anywhere she is needed, from the water therapy classes to co-chairing the Elmhurst YMCA Annual Dinner Dance event for over 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Over the past 25 years, Alice Doyle has served on the of board of directors for the Elmhurst YMCA, co-chaired the annual gala fundraiser numerous times, and continues to be an integral part of the Annual Giving campaign, which raises dollars to provide scholarships for people who otherwise could not afford the services of the YMCA; she has also aided in the fundraising efforts of other worthy area organizations including the Elmhurst Historical Society and Relay for Life; and

WHEREAS, Alice Doyle has been a proud Elmhurst resident for over 40 years while raising 3 children; and

WHEREAS, Alice Doyle will be honored at a banquet dinner on June 5, 2013, at the Diplomat West Banquet Hall in Elmhurst; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Alice Doyle on receiving the 62nd annual Elmhurst Jaycees Distinguished Service Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Alice Doyle as an expression of our esteem and respect.
