HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lillian Pagni on 
4the occasion of receiving the Altrusa International Club of 
5Elgin, Inc., Woman of the Year 2013 Award; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Lillian Pagni exemplifies the Altrusa Keys of 
7Amity, Loyalty, Talent, Reciprocity, Unity, Service, and 
8Achievement; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Lillian Pagni is a member of the Fine Line 
10Creative Art Center in St. Charles, where she exhibits her 
11Tuscany landscapes and life-like animal kingdom inspired 
12pastel oil artwork; she hosts and sponsors a plein-air painting 
13event on the grounds of her home, where artists enjoy the 
14camaraderie, energy, and creativity of being together and 
15capture the beauty of nature; she is also a member of the 
16national Oil Pastel Society; her stunning painting of Mother 
17Theresa has been used by the hospital as a focal point of a 
18greeting card; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Lillian Pagni has extended her talents and 
20leadership outside of the Elgin community as well; she has 
21donated her works of art to worthy causes, including donating 
22her beloved painting of the late Walter Payton to the Walter

1and Connie Payton Foundation for Children; her paintings of 
2Michael Jordan, Mike Singletary, Frank Thomas, and Tiger Woods 
3have all been donated to children's charities; she has served 
4as a chair of numerous fund-raising activities at Provena Saint 
5Joseph Hospital and was the recipient of the hospital's 
6prestigious DOVE Award for demonstrating outstanding values, 
7leadership, and excellence in 2005; and

  
 
8    WHEREAS, Lillian Pagni has demonstrated many significant 
9achievements in the arts and several of her achievements have 
10benefited Elgin and the surrounding Fox Valley Community 
11greatly; therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
13NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
14we congratulate Lillian Pagni on the occasion of receiving the 
15Altrusa International Club of Elgin, Inc., Woman of the Year 
162013 Award and wish her all the best in her future endeavors; 
17and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to Lillian Pagni as a symbol of our respect and 
20esteem.
