| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 45-85 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (30 ILCS 500/45-85 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 45-85. Preferable procurement for businesses owned by |
| 8 | | minorities, females, or persons with disabilities. |
| 9 | | (a) As used in this Section: |
| 10 | | "Female" has the same meaning ascribed to that term under |
| 11 | | Section 2 of the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, |
| 12 | | and Persons with Disabilities Act. |
| 13 | | "Minority" has the same meaning as "minority person" under |
| 14 | | Section 2 of the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, |
| 15 | | and Persons with Disabilities Act. |
| 16 | | "Person with disabilities" has the same meaning ascribed to |
| 17 | | that term under Section 2 of the Business Enterprise for |
| 18 | | Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act. |
| 19 | | "Preferable to businesses owned by minorities, females, or |
| 20 | | persons with disabilities" means contracting with businesses |
| 21 | | owned by minorities, females, or persons with disabilities in |
| 22 | | the percentages set forth in Section 4 of the Business |
| 23 | | Enterprise for Minorities, Females, and Persons with |
