| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 1-159.1 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/1-159.1) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 1-159.1)

| 7 | | Sec. 1-159.1. Person with disabilities. A natural person |
| 8 | | who, as determined by a licensed physician, by a physician
|
| 9 | | assistant who has been delegated the authority to make this |
| 10 | | determination by
his or her supervising physician, or by an |
| 11 | | advanced practice nurse who has a
written collaborative |
| 12 | | agreement with a collaborating physician that authorizes
the |
| 13 | | advanced practice nurse to make this determination: (1) cannot |
| 14 | | walk
without the use of, or
assistance from, a brace, cane, |
| 15 | | crutch, another person, prosthetic device,
wheelchair, or |
| 16 | | other assistive device; (2) is restricted by lung
disease to
|
| 17 | | such an extent that his or her forced (respiratory) expiratory |
| 18 | | volume for one
second, when measured by spirometry, is less |
| 19 | | than one liter, or the arterial
oxygen tension is less than 60 |
| 20 | | mm/hg on room air at rest; (3) uses
portable
oxygen; (4) has a |
| 21 | | cardiac condition to the extent that the person's
functional

| 22 | | limitations are classified in severity as Class III or Class |
