1    AN ACT concerning local government.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  
 
 
4    Section 5. The Counties Code is amended  by adding Section 
56-31012 as follows:
 
6    (55 ILCS 5/6-31012 new)
7    Sec. 6-31012. Audit report disclosure. Each fiscal year, 
8within 60 days of the close of an audit under this Division, 
9the auditor conducting the audit of all of the funds and 
10accounts of a county shall do each of the following:
11        (1) Provide a copy of any management letter and a copy 
12    of any audited financial statements to each member of the 
13    county board. If the county maintains an Internet website, 
14    the county board shall post this information to its 
15    website. 
16        (2) Present the information from the audit to the 
17    county board either in person or by a live phone or web 
18    connection during a public meeting. 
 
19    Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended  by 
20adding Section 8-8-10.5 as follows:

4of a municipality shall do each of the following: 
5        (1) Provide a copy of any management letter and a copy 
6    of any audited financial statements to each member of the 
7    municipality's corporate authorities. If the municipality 
8    maintains an Internet website, the corporate authorities 
9    shall post this information to its website. 
10        (2) Present the information from the audit to the 
11    municipality's corporate authorities either in person or 
12    by a live phone or web connection during a public meeting.
