AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4171 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4171 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The Minimum Wage Law is amended by adding 
5Section 4.5 as follows:
 
6    (820 ILCS 105/4.5 new)
7    Sec. 4.5. Advisory referendum.
8    (a) The following non-binding advisory
referendum shall be 
9placed on the ballot at the
first general
election to occur 
10after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 98th 
11General Assembly:
12        "Shall the State of Illinois require a minimum wage of 
13    $9.25 per hour in 2015, $10 per hour in 2016, and $10.65 
14    per hour in 2017 and thereafter for employment within the 
15    State of Illinois?". 
16    Votes shall be recorded as "Yes" or "No".

1    (b) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2017. 
 
 
2    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
3becoming law.".
