AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4157 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4157, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 
41, on page 1, line 16, after "intern.", by inserting the 
5following:
 
6    "An unpaid intern is a person who performs work for an 
7    employer under the following circumstances:
8            (i) the person works for the employer at least 10 
9        hours per week;
10            (ii) the employer is not committed to hiring the 
11        person performing the work at the conclusion of the 
12        intern's tenure;
13            (iii) the employer and the person performing the 
14        work agree that the person is not entitled to wages for 
15        the work performed; and
16            (iv) the work performed:
17                (I) provides experience for the benefit of the

1            person performing the work;
2                (II) does not displace regular employees; and
3                (III) is performed under the close supervision 
4            of existing staff.".
