| 1 | | AN ACT concerning elections.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Tax |
| 5 | | for Education Referendum Act.
|
| 6 | | Section 5. Referendum. The State Board of Elections shall |
| 7 | | cause a statewide advisory question of public policy to be |
| 8 | | submitted to the voters at the general election to be held on |
| 9 | | November 4, 2014. The question shall appear in the following |
| 10 | | form:
|
| 11 | | "Should the Illinois Constitution be amended to require |
| 12 | | that each school district receive additional revenue, |
| 13 | | based on their number of students, from an additional 3% |
| 14 | | tax on income greater than one million dollars?"

| 15 | | The votes on the question shall be recorded as "Yes" or |
| 16 | | "No".
|
| 17 | | Section 10. Certification. The State Board of Elections |
| 18 | | shall immediately certify the question set forth in Section 5 |
| 19 | | of this Act to be submitted to the voters of the entire State |
| 20 | | to each election authority in Illinois.
