| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective |
| 5 | | Proceedings Jurisdiction Act is amended by changing Section 402 |
| 6 | | as follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 402. Registration of protective orders. If a |
| 9 | | conservator has has been appointed in another state and a |
| 10 | | petition for a protective order is not pending in this state, |
| 11 | | the conservator appointed in the other state, after giving |
| 12 | | notice to the appointing court of an intent to register, may |
| 13 | | register the protective order in this state by filing as a |
| 14 | | foreign judgment in a court of this state, in any county in |
| 15 | | which property belonging to the protected person is located, |
| 16 | | certified copies of the order and letters of office and of any |
| 17 | | bond.
