| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Coal Mining Act is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Sections 5.11, 6.10, and 6.11 and by adding Section 1.25 as |
| 6 | | follows: |
| 7 | | (225 ILCS 705/1.25 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 1.25. Recorder. "Recorder" means a person trained and |
| 9 | | designated by the operator as the individual responsible for |
| 10 | | recording the mine examiner's examination of the underground |
| 11 | | workings of the mine.

| 13 | | Sec. 5.11.
To see that a mine examiner makes the |
| 14 | | examinations provided in
Articles 5, 6, and 31 of this Act, and |
| 15 | | that he or she enters his or her report either by calling it |
| 16 | | out to the surface to a recorder or by personally recording the |
| 17 | | report. The recorder or mine examiner shall record the report |
| 18 | | in a book or computer system that is provided by the operator |
| 19 | | for that purpose, and the book or computer system shall be |
| 20 | | secure and not susceptible to alteration. thereof
with |
| 21 | | indelible pencil or ink in a well-bound or properly protected |
| 22 | | loose
leaf book provided by the operator for that purpose.

Upon completing his or her examination, he or |

the same either by calling out |

| 6 | | recording the report. The recorder or mine examiner shall |
| 7 | | record the report in a book or computer system that is provided |
| 8 | | by the operator for that purpose, and the book or computer |
| 9 | | system shall be secure and not susceptible to alteration. The |
| 10 | | mine examination report is in a book kept for that purpose, for |
| 11 | | the information of the
company, the State Mine Inspector, and |
| 12 | | all other persons interested; and
this report record shall be |
| 13 | | recorded made each morning before the miners are permitted to

| 14 | | enter the mine.
