| 1 | | AN ACT concerning government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 175 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/175 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 175. Eat Local, Buy Illinois Products Day. The first |
| 8 | | Saturday of each month is designated as Eat Local, Buy Illinois |
| 9 | | Products Day to promote local food initiatives, Illinois |
| 10 | | agribusiness, and to encourage residents to re-invest in the |
| 11 | | local economy. The Department of Agriculture's Illinois |
| 12 | | Product Logo Program shall assist in increasing awareness and |
| 13 | | sales of Illinois food and agribusiness products.

| 14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 15 | | becoming law.
