| 1 | | AN ACT concerning employment.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 40 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (820 ILCS 180/40)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 40. Notification. Every employer covered by this Act
|
| 8 | | shall post and
and keep posted, in conspicuous places on the |
| 9 | | premises of
the employer where notices to employees are |
| 10 | | customarily posted, a
notice, to be prepared or approved by the |
| 11 | | Director of Labor,
summarizing the requirements of this Act and |
| 12 | | information pertaining to
the filing of a charge. The Director |
| 13 | | shall furnish copies of summaries
and rules to employers upon |
| 14 | | request without charge. Any employer that fails to post the |
| 15 | | required notice may not rely on the provisions in subsection |
| 16 | | (b) of Section 20 to claim that the employee failed to inform |
| 17 | | the employer that she or he wanted or was eligible for leave |
| 18 | | under this Act. |
