| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 3-699 as follows: |
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/3-699 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-699. Prince Hall Freemasonry plates. |
| 8 | | (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and |
| 9 | | applications
made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may |
| 10 | | issue special registration
plates designated as Prince Hall |
| 11 | | Freemasonry license plates. |
| 12 | | The special plates issued under this Section shall be |
| 13 | | affixed only to
passenger vehicles of the first division or |
| 14 | | motor vehicles of the second
division weighing not more than |
| 15 | | 8,000 pounds. |
| 16 | | Plates issued under this Section shall expire according to |
| 17 | | the multi-year
procedure established by Section 3-414.1 of this |
| 18 | | Code. |
| 19 | | (b) The design and color of the special plates shall be |
| 20 | | wholly within the
discretion of the Secretary. Appropriate |
| 21 | | documentation, as determined by the
Secretary, shall accompany |
| 22 | | each application. |
| 23 | | (c) An applicant for the special plate shall be charged a |
