AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 140




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 140 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:



 
4    "Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 
5is amended by adding Sections 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8 as 
6follows:
 
7    (5 ILCS 375/2.5 new)
8    Sec. 2.5. Application to Regional Transportation Authority 
9Board members.   Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act 
10to the contrary, this Act does not apply to any member of the 
11Regional Transportation Authority Board who first becomes a 
12member of that Board on or after the effective date of this 
13amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly with respect to 
14service of that Board.
 
15    (5 ILCS 375/2.6 new)

1    Sec. 2.6. Application to Suburban Bus Board members. 
2Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act to the 
3contrary, this Act does not apply to any member of the Suburban 
4Bus Board who first becomes a member of that Board on or after 
5the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 98th General 
6Assembly with respect to service of that Board.
 
7    (5 ILCS 375/2.7 new)
8    Sec. 2.7. Application to Commuter Rail Board members. 
9Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act to the 
10contrary, this Act does not apply to any member of the Commuter 
11Rail Board who first becomes a member of that Board on or after 
12the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 98th General 
13Assembly with respect to service of that Board.
 
14    (5 ILCS 375/2.8 new)
15    Sec. 2.8. Application to Chicago Transit Authority Board 
16members.  Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act to the 
17contrary, this Act does not apply to any member of the Chicago 
18Transit Authority Board who first becomes a member of that 
19Board on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 
20the 98th General Assembly with respect to service of that 
21Board.
 
22    Section 10. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding 
23Sections 22-105, 22-106, 22-107, and 22-108 as follows:

1    (40 ILCS 5/22-105 new)
2    Sec. 22-105. Application to Regional Transportation 
3Authority Board members.  This Code does not apply to any 
4individual who first becomes a member of the Regional 
5Transportation Authority Board on or after the effective date 
6of this amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly with 
7respect to service on that Board.
 
8    (40 ILCS 5/22-106 new)

4    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
5becoming law.".
