<reference>625 ILCS 5/4-203</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 4-203</aliasreference><reference>625 ILCS 5/4-204</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 4-204</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that whenever a law enforcement officer issues a citation to a driver for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, the arresting officer shall authorize the removal and impoundment of the vehicle by a towing service if the driver has a prior conviction for driving without insurance in the past 12 months unless the vehicle the driver is operating is exempt from the insurance requirements of the Code. Provides that entities may not charge motorists whose car has been towed and impounded for an insurance violation more than they would charge the State Police for towing a State vehicle.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
