SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Officer Michael Ray Bailey Sr., who 
4passed away on July 18, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey was employed by the Chicago Police 
6Department and served faithfully for over 2 decades; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Chicago Police Department has retired Officer 
8Bailey's star (#13970); and
 
9    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey was a proud member of the Chicago 
10Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey had previously served as a fireman 
12with the Glenview Fire Department and was a United States Air 
13Force veteran; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey leaves behind his wife, his 3 
15daughters, his parents, and his 3 brothers and 2 sisters; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey dedicated and gave his life to 
17protect and serve the people of the State of Illinois;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family, friends, and his Fraternal Order of Police brothers 
4and sisters, the passing of Officer Michael Bailey; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Officer Michael Bailey as an 
8expression of our sympathy.
