Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that the Director of Central Management Services may not include in an official classification specification or in a position listing a requirement that a person employed in the position or a candidate for the position must speak or write a language other than English if the position does not require regular contact with the general public. Effective immediately.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 8g as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 8g. Prohibition of foreign language requirement. The |
| 8 | | Director of Central Management Services may not include in an |

| 14 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
