Amends the Department of State Police Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of State Police to conduct or approve a training program in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for State police officers. Amends the Illinois Police Training Act. Requires the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board to conduct or approve a training program in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for law enforcement officers of local government agencies.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the

| 8 | | Sec. 2605-96. Training; Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder |
| 9 | | (PTSD). The Department shall conduct or approve a training |
| 10 | | program in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for State |
| 11 | | police officers. The purpose of that training shall be to equip |
| 12 | | State police officers to identify the symptoms of PTSD and to |
| 13 | | respond appropriately to individuals exhibiting those |
| 14 | | symptoms.

| 15 | | Section 10. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by |
| 16 | | adding Section 10.13 as follows:
