Provides that the Illinois Electric Power Generation Task Force, a separate entity within the Illinois Commerce Commission, shall be formed to conduct a comprehensive electric power generation study to determine the adequacy of the electric generation load in Illinois. Provides for the appointment of members of the Task Force by the Illinois Commerce Commission, Illinois Power Agency, and the Illinois General Assembly. Provides that the Task Force shall complete the study report containing specified information and issue it to the Illinois Commerce Commission, the Illinois Power Agency, and the Illinois General Assembly by January 1, 2012. Provides that the Act is repealed on January 15, 2013. Effective immediately.Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Deletes reference to:New ActAdds reference to:20 ILCS 3855/1-126 newReplaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Power Agency Act. Provides that beginning on the effective date of the amendatory Act, the Agency shall conduct a review of the information published by the regional transmission organizations (RTOs) in which the State's electric utilities' service territories are located for the purpose of summarizing current and projected electric generation load within each RTO, including what portion of the load is, or projected to be, generated by facilities located in Illinois. Provides that no later than January 1, 2012, the Agency shall issue a report to the General Assembly that summarizes this information.
