Provides that the Secretary of State is not required to issue corporate-sponsored license plates until a sufficient number of applications have been received to cover the total costs of issuance.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause with provisions similar to the original bill, but with the following changes: (1) provides that the Secretary of State shall develop a system for generating and administering corporate-sponsored license plates and may contract with any business entity, advertising firm, or for-profit business that provides the Secretary the required legal documentation to use corporate logos on Illinois license plates (instead of providing that the Secretary shall contract with a private entity to develop a system for generating and administering corporate-sponsored license plates); (2) adds language requiring that any contract for corporate-sponsored plates must result in result in a discount to the applicant for registration plates and generate revenue for the State; (3) provides that corporate-sponsored plates shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles of the first division or motor vehicles of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds and shall expire according to the multi-year procedure established by the Code; (4) provides that the plates may be issued as vanity or personalized plates, but must be approved by the corporate sponsor and the Secretary before issuance; (5) removes set fees for corporate sponsored plates and instead specifies that fees shall be charged in accordance with any agreement entered into under the corporate-sponsored license plate program; and (6) provides that the Secretary shall adopt rules to implement the corporate license plate program.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Floor Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code.
