<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code, the School Code, the Illinois Insurance Code, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, the Voluntary Health Services Plans Act, and the Public Aid Code to provide that entities providing group or individual policies of accident and health insurance or managed care plans shall annually (1) notify adult enrollees about the importance and value of early detection and proactive management of cardiovascular disease; (2) advise these enrollees about personal behavior that can affect cardiovascular health outcomes; and (3) further advise these enrollees that they should consult with their personal physician about their health status and any symptoms that may cause the personal physician to prescribe screening, diagnostic testing, or referral to specialty care related to cardiovascular disease. Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code, the School Code, the Illinois Insurance Code, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, the Voluntary Health Services Plans Act, and the Public Aid Code to provide that an insurer providing group or individual policies of accident and health insurance or a managed care plan shall develop and implement a process to communicate with their adult enrollees on an annual basis regarding the importance and value of early detection and proactive management of cardiovascular disease. Further amends the Illinois Insurance Code to provide that the provision concerning cardiovascular disease do not apply to short-term travel, disability income, long-term care, accident only, or limited or specified disease policies.
