<reference>New Act</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Creates the Portable Electronics Insurance Act. Requires vendors of portable electronics to hold a limited-lines license to sell or offer coverage under a policy of portable electronics insurance. Provides that a limited-lines license issued under the Act shall authorize any employee or authorized representative of the vendor to sell or offer coverage under a policy of portable electronics insurance. Establishes requirements for the sale of portable electronics insurance. Sets forth the conditions under which a vendor of portable electronics shall not be subject to licensure as an insurance producer under the Illinois Insurance Code. Sets forth provisions concerning billing, suspension or revocation of license, termination of insurance, and application for licensure.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Floor Amendment No. 3</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the bill as introduced and the following changes. Makes changes to the provision concerning definitions and adds a definition for "location". Makes changes to the provision concerning premium refunds. Provides that for violations of the Act, the Director of Insurance may take action under the Illinois Insurance Code provision concerning license denial, nonrenewal, and revocation. Deletes a provision concerning the appointment of the Director as an applicant's attorney to receive service of all legal process issued against the applicant in the State. Provides that any vendor engaging in portable electronics insurance transactions on or before the effective date of the Act must apply for licensure within 90 days after the effective date of the Act and any applicant commencing operations after the effective date of the Act must obtain a license prior to offering portable electronics insurance. Makes other changes. Effective on January 1, 2012.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
