| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert L. Myers, Sr. of Springfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 1, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born in Springfield on February 25, 1940, |
| 6 | | to James F. and Ethel (McKee) Myers, Sr.; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, He was the owner and operator of Robert Myers |
| 8 | | Studio; he was formerly employed by A&R
Security Services; he |
| 9 | | was an elder with Third Presbyterian Church and was a member of |
| 10 | | the Professional Photographers Association; he supported his |
| 11 | | community by volunteering his
time driving the residents of the |
| 12 | | Hickory Glenn Senior Living Center
every Sunday; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert L. Myers, Sr. was a practical joker and had |
| 14 | | a great sense
of humor which he in turn has passed down to his |
| 15 | | children and
grandchildren; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Robert L. Myers, Sr. was an avid Cubs fan and |
| 17 | | enjoyed watching
many a game on WGN with his children and |
| 18 | | grandchildren; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert L. Myers, Sr. had a love of photography, |
| 20 | | both as a
profession and a hobby, and his work will live on for |
|

| 1 | | future generations
to treasure; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Robert L. Myers, Sr. left each of his children |
| 3 | | with a special
gift, to Robert he gave his sense of humor, to |
| 4 | | Mark he gave his sense of
compassion, to Keith his sensitivity, |
| 5 | | and Kris his smile; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Robert L. Myers, Sr. will be missed by his seven |
| 7 | | grandchildren
whom he loved with every fiber of his being as |
| 8 | | they brought a spring to
his step and put a smile on his lips; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his |
| 11 | | brothers, James F. Myers, Jr. and Donald Myers; and his sister, |
| 12 | | Wanda Doerfler; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert L. Myers, Sr. is survived by his children, |
| 14 | | Robert L. Myers, Jr. (Mary Beth), Mark Myers (Jackie), Keith |
| 15 | | Myers (Sheila), and Dr. Kris Myers-Stuenkel (Steve); their |
| 16 | | mother, Sandy Myers; his grandchildren, Zachary, Tayler, Alex, |
| 17 | | Noah, Christopher, Wesley, and Joey; his brothers, George Myers |
| 18 | | (Ina) and Larry Myers (Sandy); and several nieces and nephews; |
| 19 | | therefore, be it
