SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Daniel Roy Martin of Petersburg, who 
4passed away on September 12, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on June 12, 1976 in Springfield, to 
6Danny and Vera Backs Martin; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He worked for the Petersburg Police Department as 
8Chief of Police; he also worked part time for the Athens Police 
9Department; he was a member of the Menard County Rescue Squad, 
10the Menard County Rescue Dive Team, and the Petersburg Fire 
11Department; and
  
 
  
12    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal 
13grandfather, Roy Martin; his maternal grandparents, Homer and 
14Faye Backs; one uncle; and one aunt; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Daniel Martin is survived by his parents, Danny 
16and Vera Martin; his sons, Jared Martin, Kameron Martin, and 
17Connor Martin; his sister, Jennifer (Clayton) Roberts; his 
18grandmother, Robylee Martin; and his companion, Natasha 
19Atterberry; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
2his family and friends, the passing of Daniel Martin; and be it
