SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Harold L. Pruitt of Carlinville, who 
4passed away on July 18, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on June 8, 1926 in Neosha, Missouri, 
6the son of William Egbert and Helen Juanita (Stanley) Pruitt; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, He served in the Merchant Marines during World War 
9II, transporting troops; he married Juanita E. "Nita" (Watkins) 
10in Wichita, Kansas on October 20, 1944; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, He worked for Valley Steel and Central Illinois 
12Steel Company, both in Carlinville, as a salesman; he was a 
13member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church in rural Raymond; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife; and his 
15infant brother, Kenneth; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Harold Pruitt is survived by his son, Gary Pruitt 
17(Susan); his daughter, Gloria Suter (Jim); his grandchildren, 
18Paul Rutter, Michelle Johnson (Wayne), Harold Pruitt (Lynn), 
19and David Pruitt (Karen); his five great-grandchildren; and his 
20great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing  of Harold Pruitt; and be it 
4further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Harold Pruitt as a symbol of our 
7sincere sympathy.
