SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jana R. Konneker of Carlinville, who 
4passed away on July 13, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born October 22, 1932, in Glenalice, 
6Tennessee, the daughter of the Paul and Verna Elizabeth (Boles) 
7Early Voss; her mother married Marshall C. Voss after her 
8husband Paul died when Jan was five years old; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jana married Arthur Konneker in the Emmanuel 
10Baptist Church in Carlinville, on August 18, 1956; she spent 
11hours playing games and watching movies with her grandchildren; 
12teaching was definitely more of a passion than it was an 
13occupation; she could never stop caring for and worrying about 
14her former students; she spent 40 years teaching for the 
15Southwestern and Carlinville School Districts; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, She loved the water and water sports throughout 
17her life, most recently spending peaceful days and evenings at 
18Otter Lake; she also enjoyed fishing throughout her lifetime as 
19well as water skiing in her younger days; she was a member of 
20Emmanuel Baptist Church; and
  
 
  
21    WHEREAS, Jana Konneker is survived by her  husband, Arthur

1Konneker; her daughters, Kim Bruzek (Steven) and Elizabeth 
2Sandino (Steven); her son, Scott "Bart" Konneker (Brenda); her 
3grandchildren, Mathew Konneker, Ashley Wofford (Jack), Alyse 
4Sandino, Andrew Sandino, Elliot Bruzek (Stef), and Alexander 
5Bruzek; and her great-grandchildren, Christian Konneker, Kyra 
6Konneker, and Jocelyn Wofford; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
9her family and friends, the passing of Jana Konneker; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Jana Konneker as a symbol of our 
13sincere sympathy.
