SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Nelson Wayne "Sonny" Falter of 
4Carlinville, who passed away on August 22, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Nelson Falter was born on June 19, 1938, in 
6Reader; he was the son of Joseph Jacob Falter and Bessie Louise 
7(Smith) Falter Meares; he married Shirley L. (Imel) on April 
819, 1958, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Carlinville; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Nelson Falter graduated from Carlinville High 
10School with the class of 1956; he was employed as a grain 
11farmer in the Reader area and retired in 1993 after 23 years of 
12service at the Monterey Coal Mine as supervisor of the prep 
13plant; he also worked for 10 years for the Illinois Department 
14of Agriculture's Bureau of Weights and Measures; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Nelson Falter was preceded in death by his 
16parents; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Nelson Falter is survived by his wife, Shirley; 
18his son, Michael D. Falter (Lesa); his daughter, Andrea Card 
19(Thomas); his grandchildren, Mitchell, Tori, and Kali Falter 
20and Brittany, Kelsey, and Daniel Card; his brother, Ronald 
21Falter (Carole); his sisters, Linda Moore (Roger) and Amelia

1Smith (James); his step-brothers, Larry Stratton (Jane) and 
2Delmar Stratton (Dorothy); and his step-sister, Chloe Felmet 
3(Bob); therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6his family and friends, the passing of Nelson Wayne "Sonny" 
7Falter; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Nelson Falter as an expression of 
10our sympathy.
