SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Randall "Randy" Sherman, who recently 
4passed away; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was the beloved son of Charlene, (nee, Weller) 
6and Leonard Skora, and the late Irving Sherman; the dear 
7brother of Craig Sherman and Lori Sherman (Timothy) Fentem; the 
8step-brother of David (Lorrie Woos) Skora and Thomas (Margie) 
9Skora; the fond uncle of Lee Sherman, Zachary Fentem, Ashlyn 
10Fentem, Samuel Skora, Sydney Skora, and Steve Skora; he was 
11loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, He had earned an undergraduate degree in 
13Journalism from the Northwestern Medill School of Journalism; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, He was active in cable television, covering topics 
16ranging from politics, veterans issues, and stamp collecting; 
17and he  was the newsletter editor for the Vietnam Veterans Post 
18in DesPlaines; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, He was the secretary and treasurer of Compex 2000, 
20a stamp show and the secretary and active member of the Chicago 
21Philatelic Society; and

1    WHEREAS, He was the co-founder and secretary-treasurer of 
2the Illinois Committee for Honest Government; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5his family and friends, the passing of Randall Sherman; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Randall Sherman as a symbol of our 
9sincere sympathy.
