| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Rena Mack; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Rena Mack was born in Wakefield, Nebraska; after |
| 5 | | graduating from Midland College in Freemont, Nebraska, she |
| 6 | | attended her roommate's wedding, where she would meet her |
| 7 | | partner for life, Gary Mack; after a 2-year, long-distance |
| 8 | | courtship, the couple married and moved to Springfield, where |
| 9 | | she continued to teach; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Rena Mack was a former press secretary for the |
| 11 | | Illinois Toll Highway Authority and DuPage County Board; she |
| 12 | | also served as director of communications and leadership |
| 13 | | development for the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in |
| 14 | | Naperville; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Rena Mack is survived by her husband, Gary; her |
| 16 | | children, Lindsay, Peter, and Andrew; her mother, Dorothy |
| 17 | | Anfinson; her sister, Willa Saltzman; and her brother, Rex |
| 18 | | Anfinson; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rena Mack will be remembered fondly by her family, |
| 20 | | friends, and the countless students she taught for her gentle |
| 21 | | and optimistic nature, which endeared her to everyone she ever |
