| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Delores Yvette "Lois" Hunter of Chicago, |
| 4 | | who passed away on June 25, 2010; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born on July 12, 1958 to Lucious "Bilbo" |
| 6 | | and Flabe "Bea" Hunter in Chicago and grew up in the Robert |
| 7 | | Taylor Homes, Building 4947; she attended Beethoven Elementary |
| 8 | | School, DuSable Upper Grade Center, and graduated from DuSable |
| 9 | | High School in 1976; she also attended Harold Washington |
| 10 | | Community College; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, She worked for the Human Resource Development |
| 12 | | Institute for 13 years; she also worked for Heartland Alliance |
| 13 | | and Management Planning Institute; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, She enjoyed playing softball with her sisters on |
| 15 | | the championship women's team, "The Crushers", and volleyball |
| 16 | | with her family and friends; she was in charge of the 4H Club |
| 17 | | and assisted in the Summer Lunch Program as a volunteer; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, She was a kind, gentle, caring woman and mother; |
| 19 | | she opened her doors to anyone needing help, a place to stay, |
| 20 | | food to eat, or someone who needed to talk; her motto was "If I |
| 21 | | have it, you have it"; and |
