| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Barbara Ebner, nee Schaeffer, of Oak |
| 4 |
| Park, who passed away on March 18, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She earned her MBA from the University of Chicago, |
| 6 |
| and later worked as a market researcher and product manager for |
| 7 |
| an Indiana corporation and retired in the late 1980s; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She was an avid sailor and member of the Columbia |
| 9 |
| Yacht Club; she also participated in several Mackinac races; |
| 10 |
| she also loved to garden and read; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She served as a Trustee for the Village of Oak |
| 12 |
| Park for four years, from 1999 to 2003; she served as |
| 13 |
| Chairperson of the Public Works Committee, and liaison to the |
| 14 |
| Environmental and Energy Advisory Commission, Forestry |
| 15 |
| Commission, Public Art Advisory Commission, and Universal |
| 16 |
| Access Commission; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, She was active for many years in the Village |
| 18 |
| Manager Association; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Barbara Ebner was the beloved wife of Herman; the |
| 20 |
| loving sister of the late Eloyse Ham; and the dear friend of |
