| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Chester Thomas Zanck of Woodstock, |
| 4 |
| formerly of Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills, who passed away |
| 5 |
| on January 9, 2010; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, He was born August 26, 1917, in Chicago; he was |
| 7 |
| the second of eight children born to Bernard and Viola Zanck; |
| 8 |
| he married Estelle on October 28, 1939; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a proud member of the United States Marines |
| 10 |
| and served his country in the Pacific theater during World War |
| 11 |
| II; he and his family moved to Lake in the Hills in 1951, where |
| 12 |
| they lived a total of 40 years; he and his wife then moved to |
| 13 |
| Crystal Lake, where they resided until relocating to the |
| 14 |
| Hearthstone community the latter part of their lives; and

| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his full-time job as a |
| 16 |
| repair/serviceman for Peoples Gas and as an insurance agent, he |
| 17 |
| served on the first village board of Lake in the Hills and took |
| 18 |
| part in many of the events in the early days of the village; he |
| 19 |
| was active in St. Margaret Mary Parish in Algonquin throughout |
| 20 |
| its early days and continued to attend services and functions |
| 21 |
| there until he moved to Woodstock; and
