| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Frederick Kowalske of Peoria, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on December 3, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske was born on July 22, 1937, in |
| 6 |
| Peoria; his parents were Frederick W. and Irma V. Callaway |
| 7 |
| Kowalske; he married Sharon Knowles in Peoria on February 4, |
| 8 |
| 1989; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Frederick Kowalske was employed at Kowalske and |
| 10 |
| Sons Sheet Metal for many years; he was then employed as an |
| 11 |
| advertising executive for Ross Advertising, where he retired as |
| 12 |
| company chairman on July 16, 2002, after 41 years of service; |
| 13 |
| and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, After his retirement, Frederick Kowalske served |
| 15 |
| as the Executive Director for the Peoria Habitat for Humanity; |
| 16 |
| he was a member of the Peoria High Football Team and was |
| 17 |
| inducted into the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame in 2001; |
| 18 |
| he was a member of the Salvation Army Board; he served on |
| 19 |
| various committees for the Peoria Riverfront Museum; he was a |
| 20 |
| past president of the Peoria Historical Society and the Boy |
| 21 |
| Scouts W.D. Boyce Council; he was a member of the Gridiron |
| 22 |
| Board and Peoria Opportunities Foundation and served on the |
